Sharing knowledge with the staff

You don’t work at a university without learning a thing or two that’s completely foreign to your own past experiences. One of the nice things at SI is that at the monthly staff meeting, time is set aside for a professor to give an informal talk about his or her work. At the February meeting, Associate Professor Paul Conway spoke about his projects, including one coming up that involves archiving a vast collection of  musical performances. It’s a little too early to go into detail, but once announced, you’ll want to know more. Paul is highly regarded in the archives field, having experience at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library, at Yale University, and at Duke University. If you get a chance to sit and talk with him, you’ll come away with a greater appreciation for the importance of preserving our cultural heritage.
