New Date, Location: “The Life of a Production Librarian”
Please note that the date and time of this event have changed!
Eli Neiburger, associate director for information technology and production at the Ann Arbor District Library, and Amy CantĂș (MSI ’99) and Andrew MacLaren (MSI ’07), both production librarians at the AADL, will discuss the exciting work with Drupal, Twitter, Gallery, Podcasting and more at the library. The library is about to offer a new paid Public Library Associate internship in the IT department. Come learn more about this opportunity and the future of public librarianship from noon-1 p.m. Monday, March 16 in the 311 West Hall. All students are invited.
Andrew worked at the AADL as a PLA before being hired into the new production librarian position. Amy worked as a reference librarian at AADL and steadily became more involved with AADL’s Web presence until she became a production librarian in the AADL IT department. Amy and Andrew work together to coordinate content production for the library Web site, including blog posts, comment moderation, text and image digitization, metadata, podcasting, taxonomy, and software development.
