Spotlight on SISA

What is SISA? SISA, the School of Information Student Association, serves a number of roles at SI, including liaising with the School administration, sponsoring and running school events, and appointing students to School committees.

Who is SISA? Students! If you are a student at SI, SISA is you!  SISA has six officers which are elected during both fall and winter terms.

This semester’s officers are:

Benjamin Malley — President
Nathan Gray — Vice President
Simon Ng — Treasurer
Ellen Wilson — Information Manager
Michael Perry — Student Liaison
Lauren Wendel — Event Coordinator

What is SISA doing? SISA is gearing up for this year’s orientation.  SISA is working with other student groups at SI to host a number of activities for both new and returning students during the first few weeks of the fall semester.  More details will be available closer to orientation.  SISA will also be hosting this year’s Halloween party and prom (held in winter term).

How can I contact SISA?  How can I get involved? SISA loves E-mail.  Send some to sivoice@umich.edu.  Check out the Web site, too.

Find SISA around campus.  SISA will have lots of stuff going on this year, so if you want to get involved, they’d love to talk to you!  Additionally, SISA holds elections for new officers each semester.  In the fall, SISA elects the vice president and information manager, so it’s never too early to get involved.
