MIX mission: To assist historically underrepresented students with research opportunities and relationships at the School of Information and to actively participate in student recruitment. MIX works to strengthen the social capital of minority students at SI and to serve as an academic, social, and professional support system.

Who can participate: ANYONE! Please come join them! They would love to have you!

Kinds of activies MIX is up to: Ph.D. student research panels, MLK Symposium guest speaker sessions, dinner parties (at Pizza House and Mia Za’s), and they also have attended concerts together.

Favorite group activity last year: They attended a concert to see the artist Common perform!

MIX will have an information session for incoming students on Friday, September 11 at 4:30 p.m. in West Hall, Room 405 A/B. At this session, you will have the opportunity to learn about MIX, its history, mission, events and plans for the academic year, find out about how to become a member, and sign up for membership before leaving the session, if you wish! They hope to see you there!
