Entrepreneurship Hour looks at Sphinx Organization
This week’s Entrepreneurship Hour features Aaron Dworkin speaking on “The Sphinx Organization and Classical Music.” Dworkin is founder and president of the Sphinx Organization, the leading arts organization based in the United States that focuses on youth development and diversity in classical music. Dworkin is an accomplished electric and acoustic violinist who received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the U-M School of Music, Theatre, & Dance, graduating with high honors. He previously attended the Peabody Institute, the Philadelphia New School, and the Interlochen Arts Academy. Dworkin will share a brief video on the organization that includes clips of several of its ensembles, featuring the Sphinx Symphony, Sphinx Chamber Orchestra, and the Harlem Quartet. The program is sponsored by the School of Music, Theatre, & Dance, the National Society of Black Engineers, MPowered, and the Center for Entrepreneurship. The free program will be from 3-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 in the Stamps Auditorium at the Walgreen Drama Center on North Campus. It is open to everyone.
