Rackham encourages community service

March 5, 2009

The Rackham School of Graduate Studies is looking for volunteers willing to lend a hand to community organizations in need of your time and talent. The Rackham Community Service Initiative is sponsoring the Community Service Workday from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 21 . You’ll work on community service projects hosted by local Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti organizations. Such projects as environmental clean ups, canvassing, helping seniors, and children’s education programs are available.

You can help by either being a leader, which involves attending a short meeting prior to the event and taking a leadership role during the event, or by being a volunteer on the day of the event. From 2-4 p.m., the event will wrap up with pizzas and beverages. You can volunteer online and obtain further details.
