The annual School of Information Research Celebration will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, May 2 in the Ehrlicher Room, 3100 North Quad. Doug Van Houweling, associate dean for research and innovation, will present the 2010-11 annual report, highlights of current research projects, and a preview of what’s ahead in 2011-12. The event will also include the presentation of the Yahoo! Student Teaching Awards to two Ph.D. students. A dessert reception will follow.

Grace YoungJoo Jeon and John Lin receive their Yahoo! Student Teaching Awards from Stephanie Teasley, director of the doctoral program, and Donald J. McGillen, senior manager of campus relations at Yahoo!
Doctoral students John Lin and Grace YoungJoo Jeon, recipients of the Yahoo! Student Teaching Awards at the School of Information, were recognized May 10 at the SI Research Celebration. Along with a plaque, each received a $500 stipend in recognition of their work.
Both students are also graduate student instructors at SI. Lin received the Yahoo! Students’ Choice Award. Undergraduate and graduate students based their selection on the instructor who exhibited the highest degree of excellence in teaching.
